There
are very many rules to this race, but I will only cover some of the main
rules. The first rule is that all the snowmachiners have to be members
of the Iron Dog Inc. Snowmachiners younger than 18 aren’t allowed to race
in the Pro Class. Snowmachiners 16 and 17 years old can race in the
Trail Class with a parent or guardian. Each racer has to have a physical
exam by a certified doctor and that exam has to be turned in to the Iron
Dog Inc. from May 15th to October 6th. All sled dog teams have the
right of away at all times. Safety equipment (first aid kits, sleeping
bags, rope, etc.) has to be checked at the start of the race and if the
racers can’t race if they don’t have the right equipment. Accidents
have to be reported by other teams at the next checkpoints. The Iron
Dog Board of Directors will not be held responsible for injuries to the
racers. The racers are not allowed to spin they’re track at the start of
the race.
